About
A variety of assessments and supporting materials taken from IDT 7100 Designing Online Assessments course. This includes not only the assessments, rubrics, and their alignment to proposed "Developing Accessible Materials" course.
Reflections
The reason this work has been included my portfolio is it embodies the introspective reflection and growth of my understanding of instructional design that occurred during the IDT master's program. This course really pushed me to think about what the role of assessments are, why I think that way, and how this is applied in an authentic scenario guided by Backwards Design. The introspective nature had me confronting prejudices and assumptions that were based on prior experience and not the current situation or goals of the course. In particular, the role of low stakes and formative assessments, which while I had an academic understanding of their value, pushing through the bias that they are somehow less important or less valuable than summative assessments or culminating activities. These collected works demonstrate how students can demonstrate what they are capable of, how those assessments are aligned with the goals of the course and have a transparent value to the students.
