Evaluation Plan

About

As part of the IDT Master's Project, I choose to conduct a formative evaluation of Learning the Railroad Track Method. The plan followed the guidance of the Dick and Carey Model of Instructional Design to determine the evaluation plan establishes the goals of the evaluation, the methodology it was based upon, the instruments used, the target audience and more.

Reflections

I only fully appreciate the work that went into it Evaluation Plan when I was writing the Evaluation Report. This project was a massive undertaking, and as is the nature of plans, it seemed as if I was constantly looking forward to the evaluation and its results. Following a set model for evaluation (as elaborated on further in the Reflections on the IDT Program) was helpful to collect my thoughts about the intentions of the evaluation, what I wanted to learn, and how that would be accomplished. Simply put, the plan made the evaluation, analysis and report easier. This project, perhaps more so than any others I had worked on during the IDT master's program, had highlighted the value of planning ahead. One of my goals for the IDT master's program was to gain meaningful practice applying concepts in real life situations, and I can see how the skills developed during this project can be applied to evaluating learning materials in the future.
